The Student Council Office
Every year the representatives of the Student Council choose the employees of the Student Rights Office, who manages the day-to-day operations of the office and ensures the performance of its responsibilities. The office has four elected representatives; a president employed full-time and a vice president, a student interest representative and a student loan representative employed part-time. The office also professionally recruits a managing director, the editor of the Student Newspaper and an international officer.
The Student Council’s Rights Office works intensively for the betterment of student rights and assists University of Iceland students on a daily basis with various issues related to their rights within the university. All students are welcome to contact the Student Council office if they have questions about their rights.

The president directs the Student Council work and represents it within and outside the university.
The vice president handles marketing and the Student Council committees
Protects the rights and interests of students and assists them with such issues
Assists students with student loan issues and sits on the board of the Student Loan Fund
Ensures the daily operations of the Student Rights Office
Represents international students and ensures their protection within the Student Rights Office
Edits the Student Paper which is the voice of all students University of Iceland
