The Student Council
The Student Council of the University of Iceland is composed of 17 students at the University. The council’s work is very versatile, from fighting for student rights to hosting fun social events for students. The Student Rights Office holds the councils spokes people. The President and Vice President of the council work alongside the Student Interest Representative, Student Loans Officer, and International Officer, who handle specific issues within the university. Additionally, the Student Paper Editor creates and manages the Student Paper, while the Managing Director oversees the day-to-day business of the Student Rights Office. The Student Council was founded in 1920 and has improved both the quality of life and education for students in that time.
